Pinterest made me do it...

Can't we all say that..?  So I saw this "Rag Quilt" and just HAD to have one...  Here is my progress so far...

I cut 5" strips of the tan, and red stripe (left the star field for cutting until I stitched the right side stripes together), after stay stitching (1/2"from edge) each stripe to it's match (wrong side together - yes, there are two pieces of fabric for each stripe), I alternated the stripes, and then attached the stripes to the star field, and then... attached the bottom stripes.

It took me about 7 hours to get to this point...  I need to "RAG" (snip the hem, and then wash it). I'll upload pix afta...  I used 3.5yards of red & white, and 1 yard of blue, I pre-washed all the fabric, ironed (UHG), and then laid it out on the floor to align the star field.  What I mean by that is that I did NOT cut the red/white stripes until I laid it all out, folded the 3.5 yrd piece back to align with the blue (for the upper stripes), and then cut it to fit as not to waste.

DONE...!

All-in-all, a very fun, easy and super rewarding project :)
