Finished up the play set for the grand-kiddos... Ok, ok only one is big enough to play on it now - but it will be around for years... Found a Rainbow Play System on CL (of course...) and since it didn't have the canopy I figured I could just make one...
I got a killer deal at Joann's - clearance upholstery fabric with %50, PLUS another %15, making the total for 5 yards (both the pirate and white canvas) under $23.00. Grab the hubby's drywall square, you need something long to ensure you have a straight line - just put it back so he doesn't know...
Sewed a thick band on each end.
If your hubby has these clips in the garage go ahead and grab them for this project - it sure helped hold in place while I measured the other side - I might have to take possession of these...
Used an image I found on-line and came pretty close to the original...
A little fusing tape to hold it down before I stiched the image to the canvas.
Touched up the image with some paint, and then put a clear coat on to
ensure it stays for a while at least.
Had my hubby set the snaps with an awl - since he was home and
I didn't want to be caught rummaging around his tool bench - buahahaha...
Voila' a Pirate ship... (the pirate wheel is on order :D
We need to re-fresh the rope ladder, and would like to make a "PLANK" over the top of the swings, but momma won't go for that - she is always squelching my joy...
