I wanted to make a few gift/money holders for the craft fair, I originally hoped that I could use the Tim Holtz tag die, but it's just shy of what I needed.. I did however use the reinforced holes from the die for the ribbon to slide through. Since I couldn't use the die, I ended up nipping the corners with my crop-a-file corner chompers.
I was able to get three card holders from on 8.5x11 piece of card stock (each piece is 3 5/8x7.5). I used Sizzix/Holtz "Holly & Berries" the embossing is a Cuttlebug "distressed stripes" ran the ink pad over the embossing versus letter letterpressing.
I used the SU tab to help seat the gift, and then set the gift card in and scored 1/8" from the top of the gift card, and then folding it over, scored again 1/8" above the folded piece to ensure it closed nicely. I could have set the score lines, but I was not consistent in lining the tab at the bottom… Improvise, adapt, overcome - not just for the marines but CRAFTING!
I have included a glue dot to help secure the gift.
