So, my friend, Kimber (enabler, and No. 1 instigator) sent me this link (http://www.littleredshood.blogspot.com/) with a wee little note to"check it out when I have a moment..." Who does that...? LOVE her boxes, just can't commit to that much...
so here is my attempt (on a much smaller scale).
I'm not sure what I love about steampunk? But I do LOVE, LOVE, love it, but just haven't had the time nor the inclination to churn something out - until now... we have blizzard conditions today, and I can't think of a better way to spend a snow day, then in my craft space... I have been collection gears and such for a while... so here I go...!

Repurpose a gift box from Christmas..., oh yeah from Kimber...! haha
(she will probably want the box back now... No way, Jose...)
collect the stuff I "think" I want to put on the box.
Base coat of black
this is the paint that makes it look coppery, and old.
hot glue the pieces on before painting
decided to incorporate a paper flower (free from cricut.com - "Flower Shoppe")
the tin stuff is "HVAC tape" from Home Depot stuck to paper
and ran thru the "gears" dry embossing folder
1st coat of coppery paint
It will probably take two coats, I can then add the metal flowers,
and trinkets to finish embellishing. More pix to follow.
Since you seem to be intent on throwing my name around....the very LEAST you could do is give me the box! (j/k.....sort of) That turned out great. I finished my cards for the swap with the San Jose girls and made one breast cancer awareness card but that's as far as I got. That is a great attempt....kind of makes me want to head back to down to my craft room.
